README For New Officers

New Officer Checklist

Make sure that you are able to access the following things:

• The Autoboat team email: Getting Access to the AutoBoat Email Documentation

• The team Bitwarden: Accessing All of The Team's Accounts And Passwords Documentation

• The team's shared Google Drive. This is primarily done by messaging a past officer to give you administrator permissions to the Google Drive.

• Are labeled as an "Officer" on the GobblerConnect page. This allows you to get emailed by GobblerConnect about any important matters such as club reregistration, gobblerfest, Gobblerfair, etc etc. Any current officers can change your "club role" on GobblerConnect using the following link: https://gobblerconnect.vt.edu/actioncenter/organization/SailBOT/roster/positions.

• Make sure you also have a label on the GobblerConnect page that corresponds to your role on the team so other people outside the team can know who you are and email you if need be. If you do not, then please ask one of the current officers to do this for you.

• Make sure you have access to the Astrobotics + AutoBoat Leads discord server, which is our primary channel of communication with them. If we need anything from them or they need anything from us they will tell us there. If you do not, please ask a past officer to invite you to the server.

• For anyone that needs to access the GitHub, make sure you are listed as an administrator on the GitHub, so you have full permissions. Once again this can be done by asking a relevant past officer.

• Go through all of the funding guides and get set up with stuff such as SEC bank information early!

Additional Notes

Be sure to be monitoring your email for anything from the Ware Lab manager (Dewey Spangler) and GobblerConnect because they can be extremely important even if not all of the emails seem that way. For instance, Dewey takes Ware Lab inspections extremely seriously, so make sure that everyone on the team is there for that.

Also, since we usually change officers at the end of the year, make sure that the team has filled out the student organization reregistration form. You should be able to see it in GobblerConnect under our organization settings in the forms tab if you have the "Officer" role. Please make sure that someone does that because if someone doesn't then it introduces a whole host of headaches like not being able to attend Gobblerfest.
